Prominent Securities Attorney Joins Murphy & McGonigle
Murphy & McGonigle, P.C. announced today that Len Amoruso has joined the firm as a shareholder in its New York office. Mr. Amoruso’s arrival is yet another milestone for this financial services law firm as it continues to attract top litigation and regulatory talent since first opening its doors in 2010.
“We have known Len for many years and are thrilled to add his experience to our deep bench of financial services lawyers,” said James Murphy, Chairman of Murphy & McGonigle. “Len will be an important addition to our existing securities regulatory expertise, particularly with respect to the trading and markets space,” continued Murphy.
Mr. Amoruso has 25 years of financial industry experience, specifically in the legal, compliance andregulatory policy arenas. Starting his career with the New York office of the Financial IndustryRegulatory Authority (FINRA), Mr. Amoruso served as Chief Counsel and, subsequently, DeputyDirector. In these roles, Mr. Amoruso oversaw hundreds of examinations, investigations, enforcementmatters, and new/continuing member applications. After FINRA, Mr. Amoruso spent more than 14 yearsat Knight Capital Group, Inc. (now, KCG Holdings, Inc.) – initially, as the Chief Compliance Officer of its broker-dealer, Knight Securities, LP (now, KCG Americas LLC), and subsequently as the General Counsel for the parent company – managing the legal, compliance, AML, internal audit, regulatoryaffairs, and government relations programs for the firm on a global basis.
