Katherine Cooper to Lead Fireside Chat on Crypto and FinTech at ABA Derivatives Meeting

Katherine Cooper of the Commodities, Futures & Derivatives Practice will lead the Fireside Chat, "Crypto and FinTech" at the ABA Business Law Division’s Derivatives and Futures Law Committee’s Mid-Year Program on July 21.

Ms. Cooper will lead the discussion (10:30 am – 11:00 am) along with two panelists – Jason Somensatto, Acting Director, LabCFTC; and Robert Bench, AVP, Payment Strategies, Federal Reserve Bank, Boston.

Ms. Cooper advises clients on issues arising in the sale and trading of commodities, derivatives, securities and digital assets. She also represents clients in regulatory investigations and enforcement actions. Prior to Murphy & McGonigle, Ms. Cooper served as the Chief Regulatory Officer of NYSE Liffe US, a CFTC-registered futures exchange.

Prior to the Fireside Chat, SEC Chair Gary Gensler will deliver the Keynote Address for the meeting (10:00 am – 11:00 am). The ABA program also features the participation of three CFTC commissioners – Commissioners Berkovitz, Quintenz, and Stump. Attendees to the program can also receive two CLE credits.
