Michelle N. Bradford is an experienced litigator who focuses on white collar criminal defense and complex civil litigation.
For nearly 12 years, Ms. Bradford was a prosecutor in the Criminal Division of the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. She prosecuted cases involving healthcare fraud, bribery/kickback statutes, criminal conflict of interest, false statements, and other financial related crimes. She successfully completed a Medicare healthcare fraud case involving $80 million in fraudulent claims and money laundering charges, as well as a federal tax fraud trial involving over $3 million in fraudulently obtained tax refunds. She tried more than twenty felony jury trials and more than two dozen felony and misdemeanor bench trials.
She was recognized for exemplary work performance with several Special Achievement Awards, an FBI Achievement Award, the USAO team award for Global Healthcare, and the HHS Inspector General’s Award for Excellence in Fighting Fraud, Waste and Abuse.
Ms. Bradford served in the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia from 2006 to 2009. There, she managed 40 civil cases and defended federal agencies in matters arising under inter alia, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the D.C. Human Rights Act, the Federal Tort Claims Act, the Administrative Procedures Act, and the Freedom of Information Act. Ms. Bradford also received a Special Achievement Award for exemplary work performance in the Civil Division.
Prior to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Ms. Bradford practiced in the New York office of a large international law firm, where she advised and defended clients in class action and other complex litigation, as well as labor and employment law investigations and litigation.
Ms. Bradford was a law clerk to the Hon. Reggie B. Walton, United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
